Basic Musicianship is a two-credit course teaching the fundamentals of good musicanship. Among the skills taught are sight singing, rhythm reading, ear training, and conducting, Ear training consists of melodic and rhythmic dictation, and interval perception. There are 4 examinations conducted privately in the course of the semester. These exams consist of tapping certain assigned passages correctly/ sight singing, interval perception and melodic dictation. Grade is determined by class performance and by private exam.
